My first impression is: 'What the hell is this ZZ Top- weird/very weird thing. I don't even know where to pick it up. Then after handling the guitar for a few minutes though, it is comfortable- very good, easy to hold, very light - nice and light.'
After amping it, it seems to have a very wide range. It is easy to find a good attack across the whole range of the guitar. The bite is very responsive.
Now, I've totally forgotten how weird the guitar looks. It is very aggressive and responsive across the whole frequency range. The weirdness disappears and the sound takes over. It's a real plugged in sound, very aggresive.
In summary: Lots of benefits. Clear clean sound at all frequencies. It's easy to get good sound at all places along the neck. Wide range of tone choices - very very easy to change the dynamics and attack.

Wow! Very Light. It looks weird.
After a few minutes playing:
I easily get a really good Les Paul sound and even more than that. It's got a great sound. The neck feels really long. (James' comment to Adam: The heal is much smaller than typical.) Oh, yes, I see that now. It feels like a lot of room.
After an hour or so of play:
I like it, it has a lot of versatility...
Russ at Savage Amps in Savage, Minnesota:
Awesome! Tons more chunk than I expected from such a light guitar.
Tony Sims: of Tony Sims Band:
Wow! Lots of power. I'm really amazed by the power and energy.
Really hot! Great sustain and sound.
